LOVE came in a day that flirted with Spring
A heater that needn't sizzle so insistently but buzzed strong anyway,
Sunshine that made my eyes kiss together,
twisting my wrinkles tight, perfectly fanned like the glossed
plastic of a candy wrapper
A disembarkment 1 subway stop past my own without a fret,
A peaceful walk home in the not-so-cold, down Cosby streets
A night dedicated to writing,
interrupted by a spurt of spontaneous calls
Friends on the way with bottles and smiles
Said I'd get this in before the buzzer beckons
They're here now, I say goodbye..
